Project Summary
Astir is a company that aims to improve cancer treatment through technological innovations. They focus on Tumor Treating Fields (TTF), a promising technology that utilizes electrical fields to disrupt tumor cell division. However, the current TTF treatment requires a bulky battery pack attached to the skin and patients do not have control over the treatment, leading to uncertainty and anxiety.
Astir aims to solve these issues by creating a wearable and wireless device called a puck and a companion application that provides user insights, control over the treatment, and personalized content. The wearable device eliminates the need for wired arrays, giving the user more freedom and privacy, while the companion app features a personalized interface and features such as historical data analysis and a user analogy to provide meaningful content throughout the treatment journey.
